Metrics

Metrics allow you to track quantitative measurements like revenue, users, or engagement. They may be aggregated at different time grains (daily, weekly, monthly). Additionally, they may be filtered and grouped by dimensions for detailed analysis. Metrics allow you to compare performance across different segments and time periods

Some typical metrics you might define include Daily Active Users (DAU), Monthly Recurring Revenue (MRR), Average Order Value, Conversion Rate, Session Duration, Customer Lifetime Value (LTV), etc

Every metric definition includes:

  • Name - A unique identifier for the metric
  • Time Grain - The time period for aggregation (daily, weekly, monthly)
  • Aggregation - How to compute the metric (sum, count, average, etc.)
  • Filters - Optional conditions to include/exclude data
  • Dimensions - Optional groupings for segmentation
