Apps
AI-native, always-live dashboards you build by asking the Analysis Agent.
Apps are living views of your data. They do everything a dashboard does (KPI cards, charts, tables, filters), plus ad-hoc queries and just about any visual you can think of. The difference: you build them by asking, and they stay live.
Every time you open an App it pulls the latest numbers automatically. There's no manual refresh and nothing to re-run, so an App is always current. Because Apps run on your governed metrics, the numbers stay consistent with the rest of Sundial.
Progressive rollout
Apps are rolling out progressively. Build them from a New chat; conversations started before Apps were enabled can't create them. If you don't see the option yet, ask your Sundial contact.
Build an App
Open the Analysis Agent and ask it to build a dashboard, for example "create a growth accounting dashboard." The agent builds the App for you.
To get the best results:
- Name your metrics (or describe the ad-hoc logic) so the agent knows what goes on each KPI card.
- Attach screenshots of the visuals you want: layouts, reference charts, or existing dashboards.
- Ask for filters or breakdowns at the component or page level.
- Be specific and be creative. The agent handles a wide range of chart types and use cases.
If the agent hits a snag, just ask it to fix it (a screenshot of the issue helps).
Edit and share
- Share: save the App, then click Share in the top right so others can open it.
- Edit: click the ⋯ menu in the top right to open it in the source chat, or edit it in a new chat.
Find Apps in the Library
Saved Apps live in the Library alongside your Artifacts. From there you can favorite an App to pin it to the sidebar for one-click access, and use version history to browse past versions and see exactly what changed before rolling back or reusing one.
App or Artifact?
- Artifact: a one-off, ad-hoc analysis you want to snapshot and share.
- App: metrics or numbers you'll track regularly.
When in doubt, build an App.
